In My Breastfeeding Era: Celebrating every mum redefining what breastfeeding can look and feel like.
This week, we meet Jen, founder of Milk on the Move, the brand giving breastfeeding mums the confidence and freedom to express wherever life takes them. What began as one mum’s challenge of balancing feeding with moments of much-needed “me time” became a mission to help other mums feel supported, prepared and empowered to move through their days without compromise.

What inspired you to start Milk On The Move?
I was inspired to start Milk on the Move as I wanted to help bring support, confidence & a bit of feeding freedom to breastfeeding mums. Being a new mum is hard & it was really important to me be able to have some “me time” to switch off, rebalance & destress - even for an hour. A trip to the hairdressers , a concert we really wanted to go to, a dinner date night,a friends big birthday night. Milk on the Move meant I could do just that.
What makes your product special for breastfeeding mums?
My product - handbag sized expressing kits - meant I didn’t have to choose between being “me” & breastfeeding. I didn’t have to miss out on special occasions or feel mum guilt about leaving baby and wasting their milk, i could keep it cool & secure & bring it home with me to freeze for whenever it was needed. I wanted to share my invention & my experience and hopefully provide some confidence to other breastfeeding mums too.
What’s one thing you love about your own breastfeeding journey?
The thing I love about my breastfeeding journeys is the assurance I get that no matter what age , they are getting everything they need to grow and develop from me. Even once weaning , they would sometimes go off their food because of teething, feeling poorly or vaccinations. Knowing they could still have their milk and be fully nourished and hydrated just gave me such comfort at a stressful time. I also loved that they (so far!) have all weaned themselves, they chose when to stop feeding which just felt so right and natural.
